Halfslap Asset Studio is a browser-based tool for drawing and exporting game assets. The editor is designed to keep your drawings on your own device rather than upload them to a server.
DOYEP LTD (company number 16868030), registered in England and Wales, operates Halfslap Asset Studio and is the data controller for information it processes in operating the website.
Suite C The Quadrant, 99 Parkway Avenue, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, S9 4WG.Email: hello@doyep.co.uk
1. Drawings and project files
Your drawings, editable strokes, asset-manifest information and completion progress are saved locally by your browser, primarily using IndexedDB and, where supported and necessary, localStorage as a fallback. Importing or exporting a project or SVG/PNG/ZIP asset is performed by your browser. In the current version there is no account, cloud project storage or automatic upload of your drawings to DOYEP LTD.
Data saved locally is controlled through your own browser. Clearing its site data, switching browsers or using another device may remove or make the work unavailable. We cannot recover locally stored projects from the server. Please export regular backups.
2. Technical information when you visit
Like most websites, our server may process your IP address, request date and time, requested URL, browser/user-agent details, referral information, response status and similar technical information in access or security logs.
Purpose: deliver the website, diagnose faults, maintain service security and prevent misuse. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
3. Emails and enquiries
If you email us, we receive your email address and any information in your message. We use this to respond to enquiries, handle privacy requests and resolve support issues. Our lawful basis is generally our legitimate interests in answering requests and operating the service; other legal bases may apply where required to fulfil legal obligations.
4. Local storage and cookies
The editor uses browser storage so it can save and restore your project, drawings and settings. That local storage is used to provide functionality you requested. The currently deployed app does not include our own advertising or behavioural analytics trackers. We do not currently set advertising or analytics cookies.
Infrastructure providers may use essential security technologies if their services are enabled. We will update this notice if we add non-essential tracking technologies. You can delete local site data using your browser settings, but doing so may erase work that has not been exported.
5. Hosting and sharing
Website traffic and access logs are processed on our OVHcloud-hosted server. Cloudflare may also process connection and security data if proxy or protection features are enabled for this domain. Our email provider processes messages sent to our contact address. We do not sell personal information or share drawing content with advertisers.
6. International processing
Some infrastructure or email providers may process limited technical or correspondence data outside the UK. Where UK data-protection law requires it, appropriate international transfer safeguards must apply. You can contact us for further information about relevant providers and safeguards.
7. How long information is retained
Our server's standard access logs currently rotate daily and normally retain about 14 days of rotated logs, unless a record must be kept longer for a genuine security or legal reason. Email enquiries are kept for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the matter and meet legal requirements. Projects stored only in your browser remain there until you or the browser delete them.
8. Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, restrict or object to processing, or ask for data portability. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. To make a request, email hello@doyep.co.uk.
You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would welcome an opportunity to address your concern first.
9. Changes
We may update this notice when the application's functionality, hosting or privacy practices change. The date at the top identifies the current version.
